The projetcs of the new Piattaforma Europa quay will upgrade the operations in the Port of Livorno. The first stage of the projects provides a new port entrance, new breakwater, new port basin and new container terminal. The works will begin with the demolition of the Meloria breakwater and the upgrading of the current access to the port (south entrance) through the new evolution basin that will also allow access to container vessels up to 12,000/16,000 TEUs.
